Frequently Asked Questions

Here, we will go through some questions about the modalities that Dr. Danielle uses in her practice, as well as some common questions from patients regarding Chiropractic Care.

Does Eastern Sierra Chiropractic take insurance?

Dr. Danielle is not in network with any insurance companies. Her main goal at Eastern Sierra Chiropractic is to get her patients to wellness care and make sure they maintain a healthy and high functioning nervous system.

Insurance companies dictate what type of care and for how long it is deemed necessary. Rather than spending her time charting and billing, Dr. Danielle chooses to spend her time tailoring each of her patients' care to what they need. As a courtesy to our patients, we can submit a bill for reimbursement to your health insurance if they cover out of network chiropractic care.

What is Chiropractic Adjusting?

Chiropractic looks at the body as a whole system through the lens of the nervous system. We focus on the potential for each nerve to have clear communication to the organ or muscle that it controls. That means that not only could these nerves be interrupted at the spine but also within the extremities.

That is why at Eastern Sierra Chiropractic, Dr. Danielle uses different techniques to evaluate and adjust any joint in the body that has the potential to release that interruption.

What is Craniosacral & Soft Tissue Therapy

Dr. Danielle offers not only chiropractic adjustments, but incorporates craniosacral and soft tissue work.

Craniosacral focuses on the cranial bones in order to make sure the Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) made within the brain is flowing properly. When we experience head trauma whether small or traumatic the CSF flow diminishes and we experience brain fog and irritability. With Craniosacral work we can help lift the symptoms of diminished CSF flow.

Soft Tissue work focuses on the muscles, ligaments and tendons that hold our bones in alignment and create a healthy Range of Motion (ROM). With techniques such as Myofascial work, Pin and Stretch and use of Percussive Instruments, Dr Danielle is able to release tight muscles that don’t seem to let go.

What does Pediatric & Pre-natal Adjusting Involve?

Dr. Danielle is experienced in adjusting people of all ages. She believes that even the smallest of humans can benefit from chiropractic care.

Early chiropractic care can help align the nervous system from the very start of life. Creating a stronger immune system and regulating the balance between "fight or flight" and "rest and digest."

Pediatric adjustment is as simple as a light sustained touch in a specific area of the spine. There are no audible releases or the need to put the baby in any big Ranges of Motion.

Pediatric and Pre Natal chiropractic has proven to help with Colic, difficulty with breastfeeding, Torticollis, and flat heads.

What is the Activator Chiropractic Method?

The Activator Chiropractor Method utilizes a spring-loaded device that delivers a quick, low-force impulse to specific areas of the spine or extremities.

The speed and precision of the instrument prevent muscles from tensing and resisting the treatment, which can often be an issue with manual adjustments.

What is involved in Extremity Adjusting?

Dr. Danielle is educated in adjusting all joints of the body including those outside of the spine. She can help with tough cases like elbow tendinitis, chronic ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and much more finicky it is that don’t seem to go away.

Precise extremity adjustments and looking at the whole system from the spine out often helps patients who have plateau in physical therapy and get back to their outdoor goals.

What are Postural Based Exercises?

If your posture problem is caused by strained muscles or ligaments, your chiropractor may use techniques such as massage, trigger point therapy, or stretching to release the tension and improve flexibility.

These exercises can help to improve posture by lengthening the muscles and allowing them to move more freely.
